A warm welcome back to all staff and students. After three weeks a considerable number of events have already been undertaken by the school community.
In week 3, the school held its term
2 Recognition Assemblies with over 250 students being acknowledged for
one or more of the following; academic, sporting, social or community
achievements. Students with greater than 98% attendance were also
identified. It is important to also acknowledge the work by Mrs Warren,
Mr Burke, Ms Holmes, Ms Brackenreg and the musical and SRC students for
making the events a success.
Mr Henderson and a large group of Year 9 boys have been working
tirelessly to beautify the Bunyah Rd entrance to the school. Many local
businesses have donated plants and equipment. I would like to thank on
behalf of the school, Jack’s Nursery, Wildflower Nursery, Marsden Park
(Pots and Plants), Royal and Co Nursery and Bakers Landscape supplies.
Timetabling 2008 Year 8 and 10 students are in the process of determining their subject selections for 2008. It is important that they have discussed their choices with their parents and have researched the subjects of their choosing to ensure they will meet with their interests and future requirements. Naidoc Week ‘Looking Forward Looking Blak’ has been a great success. Well done to all community members, and especially Ms Hanger; Youth Excel and Mrs Hill our AEA for your organisation.
